I was doing some searching and I found Rammstein's favorite artist's official site! If you go through the site good enough you can find the sketch from the stripped single cover and the sehnsucht photos. But most of all for all of the Rammstein fans that thought that wasn't Rammstein in the "taped" faces photographs! It is! you can find those tape pics on his site to! Alle Beteiligten gingen mit Akribie an die Arbeit. Sie verbanden, unter der Leitung von GMD John Fiore, die wunderbare Musik Robert Schumanns mit einer von Gregor Seyffert und Gottfried Helnwein großartigen szenischen Umsetzung des Textes von Thomas Moore. In fünf Aufführungen fanden sich mehr als 6.000 begeisterte Zuhörer und Zuschauer in der Tonhalle ein. Den Beifall des Publikums konnte man an jedem Abend „frenetisch“ nennen.

The films themselves range from documents of performances to highly structured experimental films. The Art of Destruction concerns the main protagonists of the movement and their own particular brands of performance/art/terrorism as well as a discussion of the major films and their influences. Each member is given space for biography (and there are some bizarre backgrounds to be sure) and key performances, all amply illustrated in disturbing black and white. Rather than just a catalogue of broken taboos the VAG are seen as natural extensions of both Dadaism and the "Happening" scene of the '50s, but one distinctly Austrian in the way that it rebelled against a harshly censorious government whom the performers saw as intrinsically unrepentant of its recent fascist past. This adds greater weight to the performances than perhaps the later New York transgressive movement, and their influence can be seen in everything from Helnwein paintings to mainstream Marilyn Manson videos. ...

Je ne connaissais pas l’oeuvre de John Ruskin et suis surpris par l’importance de ses écrits et de ses travaux. J’ai été impressionné par le travail des Surréalistes en premier lieu, puis par des gens comme Hans Bellmer, Unica Zürn, Henri Michaux, Gabrielle Wittkop, Antonin Artaud, Sade, mais aussi par Giger, Helnwein et bien sûr Witkin. J’étais très curieux de cinéma expérimental et bizarre (Arrabal, Jodorowski, Bunuel et plus tard, Greeneway, entre autres...). Éliane m’a fait découvrir récemment des peintres Symbolistes qui ont sans doute indirectement influencé mon travail pour InHuman. ...

Gottfried Helnwein (born October 8, 1948 in Vienna) is an Austrian fine artist, photographer, and performance artist.

Helnwein studied at the University of Visual Art in Vienna (Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Wien). He was awarded the Master-class prize (Meisterschulpreis) of the University of Visual Art, Vienna, the Kardinal-König prize and the Theodor-Körner prize. His early work consists mainly of hyper-realistic watercolors, depicting wounded children, as well as performances - often with children - in public spaces. Helnwein is a conceptual artist, concerned primarily with psychological and sociological anxiety, historical issues and political topics. As a result of this, his work is often considered provocative and controversial. He has worked as a painter, draftsman, photographer, muralist, sculptor and performance artist, using a wide variety of techniques and media. Helnwein is also known for his stage and costume designs of theater, ballet and opera productions. amongst them Staatsoper Hamburg, Volksbühne Berlin and Los Angeles Opera. ...

Kurzbeschreibung:
Bei diesem Album hatten die Hannoveraner Scorpions mitnichten einen Blackout, eher das Gegenteil: einen Geistesblitz. Denn die Jungs um Sänger Klaus Meine und Gitarrist Rudolf Schenker haben es doch tatsächlich geschafft, neun zeitlose Hard-Rock-Kracher auf Blackout zu platzieren. Angefangen vom flotten Titeltrack über die Mitsingnummer "Can't Live Without You", dem wunderschönen "No One Like You", der Hymne "You Give Me All I Need", dem wohl härtesten Song des Albums "Dynamite", der schwer und zäh aus den Boxen kriechenden Heavy-Rock-Nummer "China White" bis hin zur abschließenden, herzergreifenden Ballade "When The Smoke Is Going Down" hat jeder einzelne Song das Zeug zum Klassiker. Und auch das göttliche Coverartwork des österreichischen Künstlers Gottfried Helnwein genießt mittlerweile Kultstatus und passt wie die viel zitierte Faust aufs Auge.
